Skin Tightening

Our skin, over time becomes less resilient, less lax, and hence, looser. There are many reasons for this such as: aging, exposure to the sun, lifestyle choices (such as alcohol, smoking, diet/exercise), and stress. In all of these factors, what occurs is the slow down of the production of collagen and elastin.

It is these two compounds that allow our skin to have definition and firmness. Without either, the skin becomes supple, soft and fines lines and wrinkles appear.

While wrinkles and fine lines are one of the most commonly known signs of aging, others include puffiness of the eyes, dark circles, hollowing of the cheeks, as well as loss of definition in certain areas of the face. Other than the face, various parts of the body are also affected, these include the abdomen, thighs, arms, buttocks and the neck.

However, we have found a solution. At Bella Lisa Laser, we use GentleMax Pro, from Syneron Candela for all our skin tightening needs.

The GentleMax Pro, works by using the 1064 nm Nd: YAG laser (it is a dual wavelength system). This penetrates the layers of the skin and we achieve bulk dermal heating, as it targets the cells that are no longer producing collagen. This heat then stimulates fibroblast cells and increases collagen production. So the overall effect seen is skin becoming tightened and smoother.
